John Brooker, Fan Maker of East Rudham in Norfolk, UK began making fans in 1984.   In 1987  he became a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, one of the Ancient Liveries of the City of London.

Complementing his skills as a restorer and repairer of antique fans, his skills as a traditional maker, along with those of his wife Pippa, a graphic designer, were in demand by the producers of Film, Television and Theatre to whom he offered reproductions of period fan designs from the 16th - 20th century. They retired in April 2006.

Sense & Sensibility,  Poldark, Restoration, Marie Antoinette,   Moll Flanders,  The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, The Serpents Kiss, The Fight Master,  St.Ives, Elizabeth 1st.,  Shakespeare in Love,  Ideal Husband,  Topsy Turvy,  Alice in Wonderland,  The Clandestine Marriage,  The Aristocrats,  The Golden Bowl,  The Patriot,  The Affair of the Necklace,  Monte Cristo,  Lorna Doone,  The Abduction Club,  and most recently, the film of The Phantom of the Opera.
