John Brooker, Fan Maker of East Rudham in Norfolk, UK began
making fans in 1984. In 1987 he became a
Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers, one of the
Ancient Liveries of the City of London.
Complementing his skills as a restorer and repairer of antique
fans, his skills as a traditional maker, along with those of his
wife Pippa, a graphic designer, were in demand by the producers of
Film, Television and Theatre to whom he offered reproductions of
period fan designs from the 16th - 20th century. They retired in
April 2006.
